Psoriasis susceptibility 1 candidate 1 (PSORS1C1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 6p21.33 in the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I region, near genetic loci critical for immune function. It is an orphan gene with no clearly characterized protein products or molecular function according to protein databases and the Human Protein Atlas. PSORS1C1 has been repeatedly implicated by genome-wide association studies as a susceptibility locus for psoriasis and systemic sclerosis, as well as certain other autoimmune and skin disorders, but there is no evidence that it encodes a classical receptor, enzyme, or druggable target. No drugs directly interact with or target PSORS1C1, and its function, localization, and pathway involvement remain largely speculative in the published literature as of this date.
