PTGER3 antisense RNA 1 (PTGER3-AS1) is a long noncoding RNA that lies antisense to the PTGER3 gene, which encodes the prostaglandin EP3 receptor. Antisense RNAs like PTGER3-AS1 regulate gene expression typically by interfering with the transcription of adjacent genes, altering chromatin structure or recruiting other regulatory factors. Unlike its sense counterpart, the PTGER3 receptor, PTGER3-AS1 does not function as a receptor and is not an established pharmacological target.
