Overview

PTOV1 antisense RNA 1 (PTOV1-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA transcribed antisense to the PTOV1 gene, mainly expressed in the cytoplasm of tumor cells and acting as a molecular decoy for microRNAs such as miR-1207-5p and miR-149-5p. Through this mechanism, PTOV1-AS1 regulates key genes associated with tumor proliferation, survival, and resistance to treatments— notably impacting heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) and Wnt/β-catenin pathway activity.
