PTP4A2 pseudogene 2 is a processed pseudogene located on human chromosome 11[6]. It shares significant sequence similarity with the protein-coding gene PTP4A2, but lacks protein-coding ability and does not encode a functional protein or enzyme. There is no evidence for any biological activity, molecular function, or involvement in human disease. It is sometimes annotated due to its sequence similarity with PTP4A2, which encodes Protein tyrosine phosphatase type IVA 2 (a regulator of cell cycle and potential cancer-promoting enzyme)[1][3][4][5], but PTP4A2P2 itself is not a regulator, receptor, enzyme, or therapeutic target[6].
