Target intelligence / Profile preview
Pulmonary microvascular endothelial cell (PMVEC) connections refer to the intercellular junctional complexes formed by proteins at cell-cell borders of PMVECs. These connections maintain tight control over paracellular transport across the endothelium, which is critical for gas exchange and fluid balance in the lungs. Disruption of these connections leads to increased vascular permeability and contributes to various lung diseases, including ARDS, pulmonary edema, and pneumonia-induced lung injury.
