Overview

PX domain-containing protein 1 (PXDC1) is a protein-coding gene predicted to enable phosphatidylinositol binding activity, based on its domain structure[1][2]. It is not recognized as a classical therapeutic target such as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or transcription factor[2]. PXDC1 has emerged in genomic imprinting research as a candidate for parent-of-origin-dependent gene expression, suggesting a role in the epigenetic regulation of gene expression and potentially diseases involving imprinting disruptions[1]. However, there is no established evidence that PXDC1 is directly involved in major signaling pathways, is a direct drug target, or serves as a standard biomarker. PXDC1 is also known by the alias C6orf145[1][2]. Its biological roles are under investigation, and its functions are not yet fully characterized in the literature.
