Pyridoxal kinase pseudogene

Pyridoxal kinase pseudogene (ENSG00000219302) is a non-functional, non-protein-coding copy of the pyridoxal kinase gene. Pseudogenes such as this arise from duplication or retrotransposition events involving functional genes, but acquire disabling mutations that prevent them from encoding active proteins. Some pseudogenes may be transcribed or have regulatory roles, but ENSG00000219302 is not known to have any such activity or disease association and is not a current or potential drug target.
