Target intelligence / Profile preview
Qi regulation" refers to the concept of managing or balancing "Qi," a vital force or energy believed in traditional Chinese medicine and East Asian philosophies to flow through pathways called meridians within the body[1]. Disruptions, blockages, or imbalances of Qi are thought to cause illness according to these traditions. Techniques such as acupuncture, herbal medicine, qigong, tai chi, moxibustion, and massage are used with the aim of restoring proper Qi flow[1]. However, there is no scientific evidence supporting the existence of Qi as a measurable biological entity; it is not recognized as a molecule, receptor, enzyme, transporter or any other defined therapeutic target in modern biomedical science[1]. Therefore "Qi regulation" does not correspond to any known molecular target and should not be considered a valid entry for structured pharmacological databases.
