Overview

RAB37 antisense RNA 1 (RAB37-AS1) is an antisense long non-coding RNA gene located on chromosome 17[7]. It is transcribed from the opposite DNA strand of the protein-coding RAB37 gene and is classified in the Sequence Ontology as “antisense_lncRNA_gene.” Antisense lncRNAs commonly modulate expression of their sense gene counterparts at the levels of transcription, mRNA stability, or chromatin structure, but the specific regulatory or biological function of RAB37-AS1 has not been characterized in published literature[6][7][3]. There is no evidence that RAB37-AS1 serves as a therapeutic target, or that it interacts with specific drugs, functions as a biomarker, or is linked to clinical safety concerns.
