RABGEF1 pseudogene 3 (RABGEF1P3)

RABGEF1 pseudogene 3 (RABGEF1P3) is a human pseudogene that shares sequence similarity with the canonical RABGEF1 gene but does not encode a functional protein. Unlike the protein-coding RABGEF1 gene—which acts as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor regulating Rab GTPase activity involved in endocytosis and autophagy—RABGEF1P3 contains sequence changes or other defects that prevent it from producing a functional product. There is no evidence that RABGEF1P3 is transcribed or translated in a manner that would make it biologically or therapeutically significant. Therefore, it is not considered a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or therapeutic target.
