Overview

Rac family small GTPase 1 pseudogene 8 (RAC1P8) is a human pseudogene related to the RAC1 gene, which encodes a small GTPase involved in intracellular signal transduction. RAC1P8 does not produce a functional protein and is not listed as a therapeutic target. It serves as a genetic remnant and has no known protein product or direct biological function. Some pseudogenes, in general, can act as regulatory non-coding RNAs or as competing endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs), but there is currently no evidence that RAC1P8 itself is functionally relevant in health or disease. RAC1P8 is therefore properly classified as a pseudogene, not as a therapeutic target, receptor, enzyme, or actionable molecule[1][5].

Biological functions

OtherPseudogenes generally do not encode proteins but may regulate gene expression through non-coding RNA functions
03

Disease associations

OtherWhile some RAC pseudogenes may show altered expression in cancer (such as in tumorigenesis of the brain), there is no evidence RAC1P8 itself has a defined, direct role in disease etiology
