Overview

RAET1E Antisense RNA 1 (RAET1E-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA located antisense to the protein-coding RAET1E gene on chromosome 6. RAET1E-AS1 is transcribed but not translated into protein, and current functional data indicate roles in gene expression modulation and immune-related processes within tumor microenvironments. It has been found to correlate with m6A RNA modification signatures relevant for cancer prognosis and immune cell infiltration, including possible relevance for patient stratification in medulloblastoma. Additionally, it is implicated in higher-order brain connectivity changes associated with major depressive disorder, suggesting potential links to neuropsychiatric disease. However, RAET1E-AS1 is not targeted by known drugs and is not classified as a therapeutic target (such as a receptor or enzyme); it is best characterized as a non-coding regulatory RNA whose precise molecular mechanisms and disease biology remain under investigation.
