Overview

RALY antisense RNA 1 (RALY-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA that is transcribed antisense to the RALY gene locus. Antisense RNAs such as RALY-AS1 regulate gene expression through diverse mechanisms, including repression of translation, alteration of chromatin structure, and modulation of transcriptional interference[2][3]. These RNAs are categorized as natural antisense transcripts (NATs); cis-acting NATs like RALY-AS1 are transcribed from the opposite strand of their target gene and often show high sequence complementarity, influencing the expression of the protein-coding gene at multiple stages[3]. While some antisense RNAs have roles in disease and gene imprinting, no direct molecular disease associations or drug interactions are currently described for RALY-AS1. The molecular function of RALY-AS1 specifically has not been extensively studied, and its involvement in disease processes or therapeutic modulation remains to be investigated.
