RAN pseudogene 7 is a presumed non-functional genomic locus related to the gene coding for ras-related nuclear protein (RAN), a small GTPase involved in nucleocytoplasmic transport, cell cycle control, and chromatin organization[3]. As a pseudogene, RANP7 is expected to be an inactive, disabled copy or remnant of the RAN gene, lacking protein-coding potential and not serving as a therapeutic drug target or relevant molecular receptor.
