Overview

RANBP1 pseudogene 1 (RANBP1P1) is a pseudogene located on the human X chromosome[7]. It is a non-functional genomic region that shares sequence similarity with the RANBP1 protein-coding gene but does not encode a protein, have independent biological function, or serve as a therapeutic target. Unlike the canonical RANBP1, which regulates nuclear transport and mitotic stability, RANBP1P1 has no known role in cellular physiology, pathology, or therapeutic interaction. RANBP1P1 may sometimes appear in gene lists or screens due to sequence similarity, but such references should be considered non-functional and not targeting relevant biology.
