Overview

RANBP2-like and GRIP domain-containing protein 2 (RGPD2) is a protein encoded by the RGPD2 gene in humans, belonging to the tetratricopeptide repeat domain-containing protein family. RGPD2 is one of several RANBP2-like genes clustered near the centromere of chromosome 2 and is predicted to function in GTPase activation and nuclear import processes, with a possible structural role in the nuclear pore complex. However, functional information is limited, and there is no strong evidence it serves as a direct therapeutic target, receptor, enzyme, or transporter[1][3][5]. RGPD2 is primarily annotated as a structural or regulatory protein related to the nuclear transport machinery, not as a therapeutic target[5]. No interacting drugs, clinical biomarkers, or disease associations established for clinical pharmacology were found in current publicly available databases[1][5]. While its structure includes tetratricopeptide repeats, best known for facilitating protein-protein interactions, the precise physiological and disease functions of RGPD2 remain largely uncharacterized.
