Rap guanine nucleotide exchange factor-like 1 is a predicted guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) enzyme, involved in signal transduction by enabling the exchange of GDP for GTP on Ras-related small GTPases, primarily influencing the Ras protein pathway. It is a membrane-associated protein, with activities relating to cellular signaling and regulation, and has documented associations with certain neurological diseases, including autosomal dominant deafness and leukoencephalopathy with vanishing white matter. The gene is not currently a well-validated drug target for any approved therapeutic agents, nor are there recognized biomarkers or major safety issues directly attributed to its modulation[2][5].
