Rapidly dividing cells are cells that frequently progress through the cell cycle with little or no time spent in the G0 phase. They play a crucial role in tissue maintenance, repair, and regeneration. However, their high proliferation rate also makes them sensitive to cytotoxic drugs and increases the risk of malignant transformation.
