Ras GTPase-activating protein-binding protein 1 pseudogene is a non-functional genomic element homologous to the G3BP1 protein-coding gene. The G3BP1 protein itself is associated with stress granule formation, RNA binding, DNA unwinding, and the Ras signal transduction pathway[3][6][7]. However, the pseudogene (ENSG00000229013) does not produce a functional protein and has no known direct functional or therapeutic relevance. Pseudogenes may have regulatory roles or be transcribed as non-coding RNAs, but for this specific locus, no such function has been definitively published[10].
