Ras-related and estrogen-regulated growth inhibitor (RERG) is a protein encoded by the RERG gene in humans. It is a member of the Ras superfamily of small GTPases, characterized by GDP/GTP-binding and intrinsic GTPase activity, with higher affinity for GDP than GTP[1][2][8]. RERG acts as a negative regulator of cell proliferation and tumor formation; overexpression in cell lines reduces proliferation rate, colony formation, and tumorigenic potential[1][2][3][8].
