Overview

Ras suppressor protein 1 pseudogene 3 (RSU1P3) is a non-coding DNA sequence in the human genome that shares similarity with the Ras suppressor protein 1 gene but is considered a pseudogene, meaning it is generally nonfunctional and unable to produce a functional protein. Pseudogenes often arise from gene duplication or reverse transcription events, followed by disabling mutations, and while most do not encode proteins, some may participate in gene regulation through the production of noncoding RNAs. There is currently no evidence that RSU1P3 serves as a therapeutic target, functions as a biomarker, or interacts with drugs. Like other pseudogenes, it may have regulatory effects on gene expression, but its specific biological or disease roles remain uncharacterized[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8].
