RBIS pseudogene 3 (RBISP3) is a processed, retrotransposed pseudogene of the RBIS (Ribosomal Biogenesis Factor) gene, found in the human genome on chromosome 4[4][2]. Like many pseudogenes, RBISP3 does not encode a functional protein and is not known to have a direct biological, pathophysiological, or therapeutic role. Pseudogenes in general can exert indirect effects on gene regulation—for example, acting as competing endogenous RNAs or through miRNA regulation—but there is no reported evidence for RBISP3 specifically having such roles[1]. There are no drugs or disease associations directly linked to RBISP3. Its presence may be useful for genetic or evolutionary studies investigating the processed pseudogenes and their genomic functions, but not as a therapeutic target[2][4][1].
