Overview

RDM1 pseudogene 2 (RDM1P2) is a human pseudogene related to the RAD52 motif containing 1 (RDM1) gene. Pseudogenes are DNA sequences similar to functional genes; however, they typically do not encode active proteins. While some pseudogenes may influence gene regulation by acting as decoys or competing for microRNAs or RNA-binding proteins, these functions are not universal and have not been documented for RDM1P2 specifically. There is currently no evidence to suggest that RDM1P2 has a role as a drug target, nor is it linked to specific molecular functions or disease processes in the literature. As a pseudogene, RDM1P2 is not considered a canonical therapeutic target, and there are no known drugs, mechanisms of action, or biomarker applications associated with this sequence[1][3][4].
