Rearranged during Transfection Proto-oncogene Protein (RET)

Target
RET
Molecular classification
Receptor tyrosine kinase
01

Overview

The Rearranged during Transfection proto-oncogene protein (RET) is a receptor tyrosine kinase that plays a critical role in cell growth, differentiation, and survival. Aberrant activation or mutation leads to constitutive signaling associated with several cancers, including papillary thyroid carcinoma, medullary thyroid carcinoma, and non-small cell lung cancer. Selective RET inhibitors like pralsetinib and selpercatinib are used to target mutant or fusion forms of the protein.
