Target intelligence / Profile preview
FLT3 (Fms-like tyrosine kinase 3) is a class III receptor tyrosine kinase that plays a crucial role in hematopoiesis, cell survival, proliferation, and differentiation of hematopoietic cells. It is primarily expressed on hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells and is essential for normal development of stem cells and immune system function. Mutations in FLT3, particularly internal tandem duplications (ITD) and point mutations, are frequently found in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and drive uncontrolled signaling, promoting leukemogenesis. As such, FLT3 has become an important therapeutic target for AML treatment.
Inhibition of FLT3 kinase activity, leading to decreased proliferation and survival of leukemic cells.
