Overview
AXL is a receptor tyrosine kinase belonging to the TAM family. Upon ligand binding (primarily GAS6), AXL transduces signals promoting cell proliferation, survival, migration, invasion, and EMT. It regulates immune responses by inhibiting innate immunity and promoting clearance of apoptotic material. Overexpression of AXL is observed in various cancers, contributing to tumor growth, metastasis, and drug resistance, making it a therapeutic target.
