Reduced inflammation is a clinical or biological outcome referring to the diminution of inflammatory responses within tissues or the body. It is achieved by targeting molecular mediators such as cytokines, receptors, or enzymes related to the inflammatory cascade (e.g., TNFα, interleukin receptors, cyclooxygenases, inflammasomes)[6][1][4][7]. Therapies with anti-inflammatory action include corticosteroids, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), monoclonal antibodies, and small molecules that interact with inflammation-associated molecular targets[6][5][2]. This outcome is relevant in diseases characterized by excessive or chronic inflammation, including autoimmune disorders, allergic conditions, cancer, infection, and neurodegenerative diseases[2][6]. Targeting inflammation-related molecules is the means by which drugs achieve reduced inflammation; "reduced inflammation" itself is never used as a molecular target for drug discovery or classification.
