Regulatory B Cell Subset Induction (Breg Induction)

Target
Breg Induction
Molecular classification
Cellular Differentiation, Cytokine Signaling, B Cell Receptor Signaling
01

Overview

Regulatory B cells (Bregs) are a specialized subset of B lymphocytes with immunosuppressive functions, primarily through the production of anti-inflammatory cytokines such as interleukin-10 (IL-10) and granzyme B. The induction of these regulatory subsets is a dynamic process influenced by various microenvironmental factors, cytokines (BAFF, IL-21, IL-5/IL-4), and cell signaling pathways. Induction leads to suppression of effector T cell responses, downregulation of inflammation and autoimmunity, and maintenance of immune tolerance. The ability to induce or expand specific regulatory B cell populations has therapeutic implications for autoimmune diseases, transplantation tolerance, allergy control, and cancer immunotherapy modulation.
