Regulatory T cell inhibition

Molecular classification
Immunomodulatory strategy, Cell-based target
01

Overview

Regulatory T cell inhibition refers to therapeutic strategies aimed at blocking or suppressing the function of regulatory T cells (Tregs) to enhance immune responses, particularly in cancer immunotherapy. This approach seeks to overcome Treg-mediated immunosuppression, allowing for more effective anti-tumor immunity. However, it carries the risk of inducing or exacerbating autoimmune reactions due to the loss of immune tolerance.

02

Mechanism of action

Disruption of regulatory T cell-mediated immunosuppression to enhance effector T cell activity. This can be achieved through blocking inhibitory receptors (e.g., CTLA-4, PD-1) or depleting/reprogramming Tregs.
