Overview

Regulatory T-lymphocyte modulators are agents or mechanisms that influence the function, development, or activity of regulatory T cells (Tregs). Tregs are a specialized subset of CD4+ T cells critical for maintaining immune homeostasis, self-tolerance, and preventing autoimmune disease by suppressing excessive or misdirected immune responses. Modulation of these cells can either enhance their suppressive function (useful in autoimmunity and transplantation) or inhibit it (potentially beneficial in cancer immunotherapy).
