Relaxin Family Peptide Receptor 1 (RXFP1)

Target
RXFP1
Molecular classification
G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR), Class A GPCR, Leucine-rich repeat-containing GPCR
01

Overview

Relaxin family peptide receptor 1 (RXFP1), also known as LGR7, is a member of the G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) superfamily. It is primarily recognized as the cognate receptor for relaxin-2, a hormone with key roles in reproduction and tissue remodeling. RXFP1 contains a large extracellular domain with leucine-rich repeats (LRRs) and an LDLa module. It couples mainly to Gs proteins to stimulate adenylyl cyclase activity, increasing cAMP levels, but can also couple to GoB or Gi proteins. RXFP1 plays critical roles in female reproduction, male fertility, and cardiovascular system modulation.
