Overview
The renin–angiotensin–aldosterone system (RAAS) is a hormone system that plays a central role in regulating blood pressure, fluid and electrolyte balance, and systemic vascular resistance. It is essential for both acute and chronic control of blood volume and arterial pressure. Dysregulation contributes significantly to hypertension, heart failure progression, chronic kidney disease, and other cardiovascular diseases.
