The renin-angiotensin system (RAS), also known as the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS), is a critical hormone cascade that regulates blood pressure, fluid balance, and electrolyte homeostasis in the body. It involves a series of hormones, enzymes, and receptors that act together to maintain cardiovascular stability.
