Replication factor C 5 pseudogene 1 (RFC5P1) is a pseudogene classified as a non-coding sequence in the human genome that is homologous to the protein-coding replication factor C subunit 5 (RFC5) but does not encode a functional protein[8]. True RFC5 is a core subunit of the replication factor C complex, an essential DNA clamp loader required for DNA replication and repair, but RFC5P1 does not perform these molecular functions.
