Reproductive tissue

Reproductive tissue" collectively refers to the structurally and functionally specialized tissues that compose the reproductive organs in both males and females. These include, but are not limited to, ovarian, testicular, uterine, placental, prostate, fallopian tube, and epididymal tissues. Their primary functions are the generation of gametes, secretion of reproductive hormones, accommodation and support for fertilization and embryonic development, as well as ensuring sexual function and fertility. Various cell types within these tissues can be molecular targets for research or therapy, but "reproductive tissues" itself is not a singular molecular entity and cannot be classified as a drug target or a molecule[4][2][3].
