Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) attachment glycoprotein G, subtype A (RSV-A G protein)

Target
RSV-A G protein
Molecular classification
Viral Glycoprotein, Type II transmembrane glycoprotein, Attachment protein
01

Overview

The Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) attachment glycoprotein G, subtype A, is a major surface protein of RSV that mediates initial attachment of the virus to host cell membranes. It interacts with cellular receptors such as heparan sulfate proteoglycans (HSPG) or CX3CR1. It also modulates the immune response. It is a target for vaccine development and antibody characterization.
