Target intelligence / Profile preview
REST corepressor 1 pseudogene (ENSG00000254684, also called LOC100419092) is a non-functional, non-protein-coding pseudogene related to the protein-coding gene RCOR1 (REST corepressor 1). Unlike active RCOR1, which encodes a chromatin-modifying transcriptional corepressor important in neurodevelopment and is implicated in various biological and disease processes, this pseudogene does not encode a protein, does not participate in known regulatory or disease mechanisms, and is not considered a therapeutic or diagnostic target[7][8].
