Ret finger protein-like 4A pseudogene 7 (RFPL4AP7) is classified as a pseudogene in the human genome[6]. Pseudogenes are nonfunctional DNA segments that closely resemble functional genes but typically do not encode an active protein product[4][8][10]. The RFPL4AP7 sequence shares homology with the functional ret finger protein-like 4A gene family, but there is no evidence for protein expression or independent biological activity. There is no data indicating that RFPL4AP7 acts as a therapeutic target, biomarker, or gene with direct disease relevance. As a processed pseudogene, it may be annotated for reference or comparative genomics, but it is not considered a drug target nor implicated in drug mechanisms or safety concerns.
