A retinoblastoma pathway-deficient tumor cell is a cancer cell with a disrupted retinoblastoma (RB) tumor suppressor pathway. This deficiency, often due to mutations or loss of the RB1 gene or deregulation of pathway components like cyclin D/CDK4/6 or p16INK4a, leads to uncontrolled cell cycle progression, proliferation, and tumorigenesis.
