Target intelligence / Profile preview

Retinoic acid receptor-related orphan nuclear receptor gamma truncated (RORγt)

Target
RORγt
Molecular classification
Nuclear hormone receptor, Transcription factor, Receptor, NR1F3
01

Overview

RORγt is an isoform of RORγ, a member of the nuclear receptor superfamily. It is a master regulator of Th17 cell differentiation and IL-17 production, playing a critical role in immune responses. Dysregulation of RORγt contributes to autoimmune diseases, making it a therapeutic target for conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, and psoriasis. Small molecule inhibitors targeting RORγt are under development.
