Retinoic acid receptor responder 2 pseudogene 5 (RARRES2P5) is a human processed pseudogene, meaning it originated from retrotransposition of mRNA and subsequent integration into the genome. Unlike its parental gene, RARRES2 (encoding chemerin, a protein involved in inflammation and metabolism), RARRES2P5 does not encode a functional protein.
