RFX2 antisense RNA 1 (RFX2-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA gene in humans, transcribed antisense to the gene encoding regulatory factor X 2 (RFX2), a DNA-binding transcription factor involved in gene regulation related to ciliary function, spermatogenesis, and immune responses. Antisense RNAs are a class of non-coding RNAs that typically modulate gene expression of overlapping or nearby genes, often through mechanisms such as RNA interference, chromatin remodeling, or transcriptional interference. While RFX2 is a well-described transcription factor, little is currently published about the specific biological or pathological significance of RFX2-AS1 itself, and there is no evidence that it is a conventional therapeutic target, disease biomarker, or subject to pharmaceutical modulation.
