RHEB pseudogene 2 (RHEBP2)

Overview

RHEB pseudogene 2 is a transcribed sequences that shares sequence homology with the RHEB gene but does not encode a functional GTPase or any other active protein. RHEB itself is a small GTPase involved in the regulation of the mTOR pathway and cell growth, but its pseudogenes, including RHEB pseudogene 2, do not have an established biological or pharmacological function[1][3][5]. There are at least three known RHEB pseudogenes in the human genome (two on chromosome 10, one on chromosome 22), but current evidence supports that these do not contribute to protein signaling or serve as therapeutic targets[1][3]. If you are seeking information on a therapeutic target, you likely want the protein-coding RHEB gene, not this pseudogene.
