Overview

RHEB pseudogene 3 (RHEBP3) is a processed pseudogene related to the RHEB gene. While RHEB is known as a member of the Ras superfamily of small GTPases and is implicated in cell cycle regulation via the mTOR pathway, RHEBP3 itself does not produce a functional protein and is not implicated in any biological process, disease mechanism, or as a drug target[1][3]. Several RHEB-related pseudogenes exist in the human genome, but current scientific consensus recognizes only the functional RHEB gene (not its pseudogenes) as significant in molecular biology and medicine[1][3]. RHEBP3 is not a canonical therapeutic target, and queries about it as a receptor or enzyme are based on a misunderstanding of its biological nature.
