Overview

Rho GTPase-activating protein 19 (ARHGAP19) is an enzyme encoded by the ARHGAP19 gene in humans and is a member of the RhoGAP family[2][6]. ARHGAP19 acts as a GTPase activator for Rho-type GTPases, promoting the conversion from the active (GTP-bound) to the inactive (GDP-bound) state, thus serving as a negative regulator of Rho GTPase signaling[2][7]. Rho GTPases and their regulatory proteins play essential roles in the control of cytoskeletal organization, cell morphology, cellular migration, proliferation, and differentiation[1][2]. ARHGAP19 has been shown to influence epithelial morphogenesis and cytoskeleton remodeling during processes such as the establishment of uterine receptivity[1]. Although it is linked to pathways involved in cell cycle control and signal transduction, and its dysregulation may be associated with cancer, ARHGAP19 itself is not currently established as a direct therapeutic target or known receptor for any approved drugs[2][6][7].
