The ribonuclease H1 pseudogene is a genomic sequence similar to the functional ribonuclease H1 gene, which encodes an endonuclease that degrades RNA in RNA-DNA hybrids and is essential for DNA replication and repair[1][2][4]. Several RNASEH1-related pseudogenes exist in the human genome, notably on chromosomes 2, 17, and 1[2][4].
