Ribonuclease P protein subunit p25 (RPP25) is a component of the ribonuclease P complex, a ribonucleoprotein that generates mature tRNA molecules by cleaving their 5'-ends; it is also part of the MRP ribonuclease complex, which cleaves pre-rRNA sequences. RPP25 belongs to the histone-like Alba family and participates in nucleic acid binding and ribonuclease P activity in the nucleus. Diseases associated with RPP25 include Chromosome 15q24 deletion syndrome and Anauxetic dysplasia 2. It has also been described as a biomarker for autistic disorder. Key information is based on human gene and protein references. No drugs or mechanisms of drug action specifically targeting RPP25 are known, and RPP25 is not currently considered a conventional therapeutic target.
