Overview

Ribonuclease P protein subunit p25-like protein (RPP25L) is a protein encoded by the RPP25L gene in humans. It belongs to a family of evolutionarily related proteins containing the DUF78 domain, and is considered to be a small archaebacterial protein lacking a well-defined function. RPP25L may be a component of ribonuclease P or MRP ribonucleoprotein complexes, which are involved in processing precursor RNA molecules; however, its precise role and biological significance have yet to be characterized. Alternative splicing has been observed in the gene locus, but both variants encode the same protein. Currently, there is no evidence suggesting RPP25L is a therapeutic target or has a direct role in human disease[2][3][5][6][7].
