Ribonucleoprotein PTB-binding 2 (RAVER2) is a protein-coding gene and a member of the heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein (hnRNP) family, structurally similar to raver1 and containing three RNA recognition motifs[4][2]. RAVER2 is primarily involved in binding single-stranded nucleic acids and has roles in the regulation of alternative mRNA splicing via the spliceosome[6][7]. It interacts with polypyrimidine tract binding protein (PTB), suggesting a function in PTB-mediated nuclear processes[2]. RAVER2 is localized both in the nucleus and cytoplasm and shows tissue-specific expression, especially in brain, lung, and kidney in adult organisms[2][3][9]. Diseases associated with mutations or altered expression of this gene include leukodystrophy and brachydactyly[6]. There are no current reports of RAVER2 as a direct therapeutic target, or drugs known to specifically target it[6][9].
