Ribonucleotide reductase M2 (RRM2) is the small regulatory subunit of ribonucleotide reductase, an essential enzyme for DNA synthesis and repair. It catalyzes the conversion of ribonucleotides to deoxyribonucleotides, providing the precursors necessary for DNA replication and cell proliferation. The activity of RRM2 is tightly regulated in a cell cycle-dependent manner, with expression peaking during S-phase.
